HLK Recognized With Best In Show For St. Louis Browns Historical Society Website
ST. LOUIS – Local digital agency HLK took home the top honor at the St. Louis Chapter of the American Advertising Federation’s ADDY Awards, winning Best In Show for its digital and social work for the St. Louis Browns Historical Society. In addition, HLK was recognized with 17 Gold ADDYs Awards for a variety of client projects, ranging from digital, video, traditional and social. The awards were announced last night at a reception at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel.
"The St. Louis Browns campaign afforded HLK the opportunity to explore the rich, colorful history of one of baseball's forgotten teams and tell its story in a way that has never been done before. That's a pretty powerful motivator and it showed in the tireless effort the team put in curating artifacts from each period and creating a story that works for today,” said Eric Karlovic, partner with HLK. “The recognition of this ADDY Award, as well as the other dozen and a half awards is telling of the dedication and passion our employees put into their work daily for each of our clients."
Featuring an enhanced user experience, the site includes a comprehensive overview of the franchise’s storied history, biographies and statistics on all St. Louis Browns players, and information about the Society and its members.
The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry's largest competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year, to recognize and reward creative excellence in advertising. The St. Louis ADDYs are the first of a three-tier competition; the Browns site will now be forwarded to a district competition, with submissions from Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri before moving to a national level.
Launched in early 2015, the site also was recognized in the advertising industry with a Silver CLIO Sports Award, the first CLIO for HLK in its nearly 40-year history. The CLIOs recognize the work, the agencies and the talent – across advertising, sports, fashion, music, entertainment, and health care – that, in a variety of categories and as judged by industry peers, push boundaries and establish new precedent.
