HLK Honors: Browns Documentary Receives Two Clio Sports Awards
May 10, 2018
HLK is proud to share that we were recently recognized by the Clio Awards — an esteemed international awards competition for the creative industry — in the 2018 Clio Sports category for our work with the St. Louis Browns Historical Society. (Cue the baseball humor.) We knocked it out of the park, receiving a bronze award for our first full-length documentary, The Saint Louis Browns: The Team That Baseball Forgot,
which aired in March on the local PBS affiliate. From there, we kept on swinging, bringing home another bronze award for the film's five promotional posters. This comes on the
cleats heels of our 2015 Clio Sports award for the St. Louis Browns Historical Society's website.
All jokes aside, it is a true honor to be recognized in such esteemed company, especially for this passion project. With this film, we had the opportunity to not only tell the story of this forgotten team but also create something lasting that will finally give the team's legacy a permanent home in baseball history.
This recognition acknowledges the dedication and tireless effort of our team and reaffirms our belief that it is a story worth preserving. We couldn't be happier.
...Or could we? Well, hearing from our partners at the local PBS affiliate that our documentary was one of (if not the) highest donation nights in station history sure does make this Cinderella story even sweeter. What was supposed to be a premiere and one rebroadcast has now turned into multiple reruns of our documentary because viewership has been extremely high. So if you missed it the first time, you can check out the programming schedule or view it online at http://www.ninenet.org/browns/.
This success would not have been possible without the countless individuals who stepped up to the plate. We would like to sincerely thank our partners for their support on this project:
