Meet Bloxels, the Latest Gaming Innovation from Pixel Press
May 19, 2015
Just over three hours after its Kickstarter launch, Bloxels had raised more than a third of its $40,000 goal and been named a Kickstarter Staff Pick.
We weren’t surprised. Our content and creative teams had worked with Bloxel for months on almost every aspect of their rollout, from video and product shots to copy and even packaging. Two HLK offspring -- of IT Manager Bill Lang and Senior Account Manager John Temporiti -- even make cameos as beta testers.
Bloxels is the latest gaming innovation by Pixel Press, the St. Louis-based tech company that first made waves with its paper-to-digital gaming application Floors in 2014. That application brought the childhood dream of designing your own video game to life, turning hand-drawn sketches into interactive video games to play and share with friends.
Bloxels builds on that foundation with a gameboard that marries physical and digital play. Gamers build environments using color-coded building blocks that represent different gaming elements, then capture their environments on camera and use the free companion app to instantaneously bring the creation to life. With new element and character updates, the depth of play is nearly endless, and the only limits are your imagination.See the work and score your own Bloxels box set here.
