Search Engine Marketing Manager

The Search Engine Marketing Manager (PPC / SEO) will be responsible for monitoring and improving the search engine rankings for client content and the overall creation and management of pay-per-click marketing campaigns.  The position will work closely with Behavioral and Digital Strategists, as well as Media Planner/Buyers to ensure strategic alignment across teams to implement best practices and measure performance.

PPC Implementation:

  • Conduct keyword research and selection for pay-per-click campaigns
  • Proactively make strategic PPC campaign recommendations
  • Utilize bid management tools and data modeling to maximize the effectiveness of PPC campaigns.
  • Monitor campaign results, analyze key metrics, and optimize click-through and conversion rates.
  • Optimize landing pages for search engine quality score.
  • Serve as liaison with paid search engine contacts.

 SEO Implementation:

  • Based on keyword research, provide prioritized SEO On-Site and Offsite Optimization
  • Define authoritative landing pages in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Provide all SEO best practices, including: domain, subdomains, URL structure-making site accessible to Search Engines-creating optimal information architecture
  • Rich media optimization (Video, Image, Games, Widgets, Flash)
  • Solutions for duplicate content (redirects, canonical tags, robots.txt, etc)
  • SEO copywriting including: title, meta descriptions,heading tags, press release optimization
  • Content optimization - provide best practices, audit continuously
  • Maintain search engine visibility during and after a site redesign, platform migration or domain changes.

 Link Building:

  • Ensure that all onsite social media best practices are integrated
  • Create consistent optimized internal linking strategy and process.
  • Web Directory Submissions and Press Release Optimization:
  • Measure and monitor inbound link performance.
  • Modify linking strategy relative to performance.

 Research, Reports and CaseStudies:

  • Generate SEO reports for stakeholders and departments, including search analytics, keyword ranking performance, competitive ranking and link performance
  • Compile industry research, competitive landscape information, and trade intelligence for SEO strategy development and optimization.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a PPC campaign optimizer
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a SEO link-building expert initiating, monitoring and managing white hat organic link acquisition strategies and social media
  • Must have knowledge of Google Adwords & MSN AdCenter
  • Familiarization with DART/DoubleClick for Agencies
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SEO and PPC diagnostic and analytic tools
  • Ability to perform research, analyze websites, document changes, and make decisions regarding optimization approach
  • Ability to compile and analyze search data and metrics and make decisions regarding campaign direction.
  • Ability to perform click through rate, conversion, spend and creative analysis to identify growth/optimization opportunities.

This solution-oriented position requires excellent written, speaking, and presentation skills across all levels of management, staff, and client groups, strategic partners, and with outside analysts.  This includes the ability to collaborate and encourage teamwork and to facilitate communication between people with different levels of expertise.

Interactive Developer

Interactive Developer is responsible for the execution of the digital initiatives of the agency, further establishing Hughes as an interactive leader, and advancing our digital expertise. You are a dreamer, an innovator, an experimenter and you are looking for an environment that helps you shine and hone your craft. The developer will work with strategic and creative members of the agency on a variety of interactive pieces, including mobile applications, interactive websites and social media applications.

This role bridges the creative and technical aspects of project delivery-- with little supervision and detailed integration with the design and strategy team members, the ideal candidate develops and implements designs technically according to creative and art direction already established. As such, the qualified candidate must be able to work in and bridge the creative with the technical across a variety of platforms and frameworks. Ultimately, the Interactive Developer is responsible for all aspects of presentation layer development including all project related front-end technologies.

REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE

  • Objective C with mobile app development experience
  • LAMP experience
  • HTML/CSS & Javascript expertise
  • Working knowledge of HTML5/CSS3
  • Familiar with JS frameworks like JQuery
  • Experience working with various public APIs like Facebook and Twitter
  • Ability to work with Photoshop files and create websites with a high level of pixel precision
  • Ability to shift quickly and seamlessly from web development to rich media ad development to mobile development.
  • Initiative to proactively learn about emerging technologies and provide insight and recommendations on how to use these technologies to further the organization
  • Basic knowledge of digital design and typography techniques and best practices
